With over 33 years of design experience, Ellen ranks in the elite of her profession. After attending undergraduate school at Appalachian State University, Ellen earned her Associate Degree in Commercial Art and Interior Design from Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC in 1986.

 

She started her career with a nationally known design firm, Calvin Hefner Interiors in Charlotte, NC, where she learned from a highly recognized member of ASID. She then joined Sea Island Interiors of Charleston, SC to be with her husband. At Sea Island Interiors, her design focused on in-town historical residences and ocean front and marsh view mansions in Wild Dunes, Kiawah and Seabrook.

 

The following years brought Ellen to Columbia, working for several builders around Columbia making design decisions for interiors as well as exteriors. She then joined Sovereign Homes to manage their interior design division. She was integral to the designs and furnishings of several hundred custom homes in some of Columbia's finest neighborhoods and on the shores of beautiful Lake Murray. Ellen's designs were awarded best interior design in each of the Parade of Homes in which she participated.

 

Ellen incorporated Ellen Taylor Interiors + Design in 2005 and relocated to the Vista in 2007 to be more centrally located for her clientele.
