Without a preconceived concept, I begin each canvas by layering, dripping and masking areas with acrylic paint. This process allows for guided serendipity and creates a rhythmic foundation of line, color, texture and shape. At this stage I follow my instincts and make unique associations and whimsical interpretations of the organic world.

My recent floral series explores abstract expressions of the natural world juxtaposed in a geometric man-made space. 

 

In addition to degrees in Fine Arts and Art Education, I have practiced as a Graphic Artist/Illustrator and freelance artist. Born in Washington DC, my life has led me throughout the Eastern United States as well as extensive travel to Europe and Asia. I currently reside in Little Mountain, South Carolina.
